RMCS is a specialized consulting firm that offers advisory consulting services on risk management and applied financial economics. RMCS focuses primarily on consulting pertaining to derivatives, structured financial products and markets, risk measurement and management, and structured (re-)insurance (a.k.a. alternative risk transfer). Since the firm's incorporation in 1994, its clients have included financial institutions, non-financial corporations, institutional investors, and professional services firms.

RMCS provides customized consulting services designed to meet the needs of specific clients on individual projects. Most RMCS consulting services are performed or supervised by RMCS's Managing Director, Dr. Christopher L. Culp. In addition, RMCS often relies on external resources working either in conjunction with or subcontracted through RMCS to provide the exact skill sets that a client may need on a particular engagement. These external resources include several independent consulting experts with whom RMCS has worked extensively over the years, as well as other consulting firms with which RMCS maintains informal strategic alliances.
